Honda 20hp getting to much fuel

I have a cub cadet that is about 12 years old with a Honda 20 hp engine. It was getting fuel into the oil and also running pretty rough. I purchased a new carb and put it in. Runs great however I have a stream, not a trickle a full blown stream of gas coming out of the relief hole on the top of the new carb. I put the old one back on and I see that one is too. Tried making sure the float wasn't stuck on both. The needle doesn't seem to move but a fraction of distance.

It really seems like the pressure of the fuel going in is to high. It does have a fuel pump rather than gravity feed. Do these go bad or could there be something else pulling that much fuel.

Did you MAKE SURE the vacuum and fuel lines were on right ??? Very common mistake. Yes they can get a hole in the diaphragm.Or there is a bit of rubber from putting on the fuel lines jamming the needle.Does it look like this?

Yep...need the numbers because every search I come up with shows that pump.

Replace the fuel pump. It's out to lunch! That was easy, huh!

It seems to be the carb. If I remove the bowl and blow air in the fuel intake there is air coming through. As I lift the float and the needle moves up the airflow stops. Which is what I would expect and expect with fuel. However once, I put the owl on and screw it down tight, when air is blown in the fuel intake, it come right out the fuel overflow just like the fuel is. This doesn't matter if the carb is right side up or upside down. So something is causing the float to get stuck up. What should I be looking for in regards to making it not bind up?

Should be a GX620 K1 engine. I think you missed the 6.

Sound like the float is being jammed when install the float bowl try install the bowl with the carburetor upside down. I have seen a few carbs that this can happen to as the floats hangs down too much when installing the bowl.

A float stuck UP wouldn't allow fuel in.....and if the bowl is empty then the float can't shut off the fuel because a float won't float in air. Looks like an electric inline pump.

I was thinking along the line of the float being jammed in the down position when the bowl is installed.

It depends if the electric fuel pump has a build-in pressure regulator if it is the source of the problem. If it does then of course it could have failed. A good simple test would be to temporary setup a gravity feed fuel system to bypass the pump setup.
