Rivet In Snow Blower Paddles

Hi Folks;
Putting new paddles on a MTD 31AE150-000. It has about 5 screws and 1 rivet holding each of the 4 paddles on. What's the reason for the rivet?

Here is MTD's reason ( As quoted from their website>

SERVICE NOTE: (*Models Manufactured Feb. 2003 and prior) - If the unit has never had the rubber augers replaced, each of the rubber auger spirals will have one pop rivet retainer. This is a remnant from the assembly line process. The first time these auger are removed it will be necessary to take a small electric drill (3/64") and drill out the center of each rivet. Once the rivets are drilled, they can be pried from retained position with a pair of pliers. The replacement auger rubber spiral kits mentioned above contain extra hardware to replace these rivets with self-tapping screws.

I would've never thought that info could be found on their website. Makes sense, like the clips that used to hold brake drums on the rear of cars.
I'm using a Stens kit and it doesn't include the hardware.

Stepsons girlfriend brought me a Hundai car and said her "mechanic" couldn't get the rear drums off....guess he couldn't see the two torx bolts going through the drum into the hub. Must be the same type deal.

You mean part changer don't you..
