IF not you can always count the number teeth from the keyway which if I am not mistaken is 11 teeth CW in the images. On top that is appears that the gear is for the plain bearing sumps.

Yeah, looks like the difference may be in that bit of "hump" or raised boss on the plain bearing gear giving it a way to offset the timing gear teeth from rubbing on the aluminum plain bearing boss. Otherwise, I suppose the ball bearing gear is somewhat thinner overall, in which case to use it in a plain bearing engine you'd have to add shims anyways to make up end play to specs. I don't think I ever really paid a lot of attention to them myself, as if the engine was so far gone it needed crank replacement, might as well just do a short block for a few bucks more.. so never really had to deal with building one from random parts and pieces...

That is a GREAT observation and duly noted! 8-)

Update:
I received the crank today. The crankpin and both journals measure well within specs with no scoring whatsoever. :D The crank gear is removable (by hand) and there is a timing mark that is exactly 11 teeth from the slot, so it appears that this crank DID come off of a Model 130202 (non ball bearing engine) as the seller represented. It appears and measures in every way identical to other 130202 cranks I have with the exception of the removable crank gear. All of my 130202 cranks have the crank gear cast/fabricated as part of the crank and not removable.
I only paid $ 25.00 for this with $ 8.00 shipping so I think that I did pretty good? 8-) You very rarely ever see them come up (much less in great condition) with the straight, smooth, and slotted PTO end that I need for a clutch install- many (most) are tapered (generator application) or threaded (water pump application), which I cannot use :D

**Late edit and questions:
KE4AVB: The crank gear on this crankshaft I purchased looks like Briggs # 261696 in the photos you provided.
Brian: This crank gear is far from being a "press" or even a "tight" fit. I can slip it on and off fairly easily- Should I be concerned? :?

Not sure that anyone saw my late edit/questions on my last post so I will repost it here...
The "slip-on" crank gear on this crank is not even close to a press fit or a tight fit. I can slip it on and off the crank fairly easily. Should I be concerned? :?

IF it is like the 33R I working on then it is normal.

Nah I would not be concerned, creia - Only issue is there is play between crank gear and key - as long as it isn't shifting around (making timing stutter around) then slip fit is fine - typically once it (engine) is buttoned up it should be fairly firmly in place. Only ever saw one with a problem and that was due to cracked gear after the engine suffered a devastating kickback of the impeller it was driving (some idiot not paying attention shoved an iron pipe along with a bunch of tree branches into his shredder and the whole thing just bound up and stopped real fast. Suffice to say, machine was totaled, and we were salvaging the engine for something else.)
