Check for spark when it shuts down - does it restart right away?
Try a new plug, but sounds like maybe a ignition issue, low oil sensor, possibly a hanging valve.. But... Could be the oil alert diode failing when hot.
make sure it is full on oil, and then disconnect the oil alert from the shut-off (but make sure the switch is hooked up to the wire from coil)
See if that does it - There's 2 parts to it - the little square oil alert box (contains a delay circuit) and the oil level sensor itself if it then does not shut down, you've found the issue, most likely need the oil alert diode (the little square box bolted to side of engine) , or the oil level sensor (contaminated with metal from worn engine, lack of oil changes, or just plain shorted out)
All the above is a moot point if there's no oil alert - Again we need your numbers (model-serial-type engraved in the block) to really identify which engine it is
