I got a minor question which I think I already got the answer to just need some reassurance. I don't get many generators in here and when I do they normally have engine problems which one had too with it completely worn out and needed oversizing.

I recently rebuilt the engine on this engine and finally got to fire it up. This was my first Kool Bore rework. Engine runs fine. The generator had no output voltage so I did a re-magnetization of the rotor. While I have 12Vdc applied with positive on brush closest to bearing I get the 220 Vac output. When I try it with AVR reconnected I get no voltage out. Both the DPE and Field windings has continuity so is it just a replace and try on the AVR module as in Briggs troubleshooting guide or is there something else I missed?

The AVR is the likely culprit here, you have already covered the other bases. With that and the engine rebuild you are likely into it for more than the cost of a replacement but that's your call.

Parts are only $190 at retail including the AVR but that not counting my labor.

Not too bad for a free unit that 6200 watts with 8750 surge. I was using the engine for training purposes anyway so I am writing off the parts and labor as a training expense.
