jd tillerit's a attachment to a s1400 trimmer. trimmer runs ok. driveshaft inside tube ok. lower half of tube (the tiller attachment) is hard to turn. took unit appart to inspect.removed clutch drum and used it to turn tiller attachement feels like gears inside are damaged (spanked). would like to see a ipl but s1400 does'nt come up on Outdoor power equipment information. can someone help? Can pull up the Homelite UT-20810 power head at Jack's Small Engine but the number for the tiller doesn't work double check your numbers. A partial number search using the UT-1056 list only a few chainsaws.

They dont have an IPL because there's no service parts - gearbox goes bad, replace gear case & shaft assembly - and probably for three times the money of buying a new machine. The UT number for your attachment comes up as a chainsaw (Super XL Automatic) - and indeed, all UT numbers starting with UT-1056xxx come up as chainsaws, so I suspect you are mis-reading the UT number off the attachment, or you got a typo in there somewhere

check model again, look at ut-15550-b, as bg post, no internal parts for gear box, open it up and look at gears, may be grease dried up
