Kubota T1670 15hp Kohler

Postby man00 » Tue Nov 11, 2014 10:14 am

Engine is GH430V, after it sits for couple of weeks I have to remove the air filter and prime the engine to start.
During the summer months it starts fine, when being used weekly. Would adding a primer bulb after the fuel filter fix this?

No sounds like your carburetor is leaking fuel away and if tank is below level of carburetor (probably) you have to crank it a long time for fuel pump to replenish fuel in carburetor. (or a combination of a bad fuel pump leaking fuel back down and carburetor leaking or evaporating fuel away)

Being an early 2000's engine, I would pull the fuel bowl which I suspect is aluminum and check for pin holes causing a slow un-noticeable fuel leak. Note parts for this engine only available through Kubota.

If your just needing a new bowl; post if it is a Walbro or a Nikki carburetor and I might be able to come up with Kohler part number for a bowl replacement kit.
