Kohler losing Power

Yes that are scuffed up. There is hardly any lobe left on the exhaust lobe. That is the lobe that has the compression release. There was also some silver in the oil, I'm guessing that is from the lobe wearing down.

If my understanding is correct the manual says valve lift which would be measured at the top of the valve stem when the valve close to where it opened as far as the push rod will move it. Best checked with a dial indicator. It would have make better sense if they would gave the cam lobe height too. Good guide here would that both cam lobes should be fairly close in height to each other.

Got the new parts in Friday and put her back together today, purr's like a kitten. Thanks for the help guy's.

I have enjoyed reading this forum and will make it a regular visiting place.
