Still having trouble putting this thing back together. Got it down to only 1 linkage, but have no idea how it fits in. Pics to follow

Look, you need to take the unit to someone that has experience in these matters! It's pretty obvious yer in over yer head. Craigslist prolly has several mechanics that can do the job.

In pic 2, this is the one linkage I can;t figure out. It attaches to the black plasitc piece the controls the butterfly choke.

Looks like you're missing the choke control lever , which bolts to the tank in the one empty hole (and shares a screw with carburetor for the other) - it'll be a trim place with a decal and a choke lever that the linkage attaches to to operate the choke.

There is no choke lever or choke control level.

Precisely.

In your original post that started this thread you said:
jimmyfingers wrote:We came to the conclusion that some of my parts with swtiched out bc they did not match up with the engine number.

I would also conclude that the CHOKE LEVER CONTROL is MISSING which would explain why there is none there.. - as I said in your photos, you have a bolt filling a hole in the tank (last pic, your choke linkage is touching it) - THAT BOLT is Used to HOLD THE MISSING CONTROL BRACKET.

I just went back through this entire thread and find no engine model or spec numbers - probably could have cut the thread down to 2 pages if we'd had those at the start :)

With your engine model and type and date code, we can look up the parts for that engine, and show you in the IPL or give you part number for those missing pieces.

Maybe this will you idea of what BGS is talking about. Not all these panels with throttle control just depends on the setup but most do have choke control that I have seen here. This just a random engine here that awaiting parting out.
