Nikki 6100 carburetor on Onan P220G

Postby Skywatcher » Sat Jan 17, 2015 8:07 pm

Greetings All

Yes, I'm still alive, life around here has been somewhat of a gong show as of late. Anyhow, I have an Onan P220G type 1/10940G S/N 1953423264 in the shop. The accelerator pump diaphragm in the Nikki model 6100 carburetor has perforated. I bought the Onan P/N 0146-0658 pump rebuild kit which has everything I need plus an extra piece. The piece in question is a small brass dowel .590" long and .157" diameter tapered both ends, there was no part like this in the carburetor when disassembled. Does anyone know where this part goes? More information on carburetor (numbers cast and stamped on side of body) 6100 27-241 146-0698 58Y. Thanks in advance for any help. All the best,

Sky

Hi Sky, Thought you was hibernating.

Can't be of any other to say It might be just for one of the other carburetors that the kit fits. I did find a mention of it in a post on mytractorforum and that tech never found a place for it either. That was 2 yrs ago.

I think the circled item in the following picture is what you about anyway.

If it is anything like the Briggs Nikki, It might be the air bleed orifice (look in the carb throat by the choke) -Just a guess since I haven't seen a Nikki on an Onan yet.
