Governor Gear B&S Motor

Postby harlee » Tue Jan 21, 2014 3:10 pm

I have a Briggs and Stratton motor from an Ariens snow blower! Have to replace the governor gear and the crank governor however cannot figure out where the governor gear sits. Does it face the flywheel for the pulley! Would anybody know of a video that would help?

The model number on the motor is 20A100

If it was a vertical engine it would in the oil pan. Same thing just on the PTO end of the crankshaft. It only fit one way so the pin can the crank lever.

Small question what are talking about here

. Is the governor gear assy, the crank, or the lever near the flywheel?
If it is the governor, the counter weights faces inward toward the center of the engine.
