Choke shutter

Postby mulch » Sat Feb 01, 2014 4:39 pm

Hello all

Great that the forum just keeps on going.

Here is what I have. Ariens blower 10M5, Tech H50. I noticed that it started hard the other night after we got 6". Today I took a look and realized that the choke shutter was missing. Guess it fell of the other day. Maybe I will find it this spring in the yard but for now I would like another.
What I need is to determine which carb I have. Only markings are 116 7G7 and on the bottom of the bowl it says Tecumseh. I cant seem to find the correct one using these numbers. This shutter is the type that is slightly bent in the upper right and lower left. Any help?

Thanks.

Post the FULL engine # for that H50, and we can help. Somewhere on the recoil shroud,(could be on the top or along the side), there will either be the numbers embossed into the shroud or there will be a metal tag riveted unto the shroud.

Choke plate part number is 31837 It should not be bent though. Screw is part number 650506. Choke shaft is part number 31869. Carb is 631068A.

Yes thought of that already. I do think it went in. I heard some noise that wasnt normal the other night. I have used it twice since and all sounds good for now. I will go in some time soon and see.

The other #'s: 65077G 7270 12077

I believe that it is a series 1 carb but that doesnt give numbers. I almost think that the choke shutter was replaced with a throttle shutter. Series 3 and 4 use a bent shutter. Who knows? Just want a new one to replace.

Thanks for posting the numbers. My parts references agree with aj-allen. Yes, that is a "Series 1" carb "IF" that carb is original to that engine. Can you post some pics?
