tecumseh main nozzle colors

Postby dennis » Thu Mar 20, 2014 3:15 pm

I have a Tecumseh Model LV148EA 334036B engine. The IPL says it takes carburetor #640339. The main nozzle is missing, and I do not know what color nozzle it takes. Is there a reference that tells the color of the nozzle that specific Tecumseh carbs take? Thanks.

Colors may vary - just look up part number for the nozzle for your carb, which happens to be # 640080 , which last I saw, was blue.

Thanks bgsengine. I looked up a number of IPLs for that engine and none had a breakdown of the carburetor...only carb number. I finally found a breakdown for that carb, and you are correct....it is #640080....blue. Thanks again.

Don't forget the two O-rings, one in the lower groove and one on top groove. Ya wanna make sure ya remove any remnants of the old upper O-ring that tends to get stuck in the carb.

IPL for the Tecumseh Engines shows a carb parts breakdown separately - won't show in the main engine parts IPL since many carbs may be used on different engine models - so I suppose Tecumseh decided having the same breakdown multiple times was redundant. You find the Tecumseh Carb breakdown by finding the carb part number, then add either a prefix CA- , or suffix -TEC to the number when searching for models - All depends on the software in use.

I best I have found for Tecumseh carburetor breakdowns is Partstree.com. Once you the carburetor assembly number enter that as the model number on their site for part list.

Thanks, guys. Good information that will save me time in the future. I have, and still do, participate in other small engine forums, but this one is the best by far.

Don't forget "Deere's" note making sure the old upper o-ring is completly removed.
