Rering kit question

Postby dropzone » Wed Apr 02, 2014 8:52 pm

I am working on a Kohler Model CH20S, Spec 64510, S/N 3319007311. I am looking for a ring kit with all the gaskets. Do any of you know if there is a complete kit and do you know the part number. I don't want to buy the rings and gaskets separate. Thanks for your help.

I do not believe your will find such a thing as I haven't seen single re-ring kit as you specify. I have always brought the gasket kit, with pistons and rings separately even for even for my cars' engines. Why would the manufactures have separate re-rings kits for std, .010, .020, and .030 over just to have them sit on the shelves unused for years.

KE4 is right - you will not find a complete kit , other than a very narrow aftermarket selection, and there are none for the CH20

There are Gasket sets (overhaul Sets) , and then you can get Piston Kits complete with rings, or you can get ring *SETS* but if you go OE, you gonna have to buy sets of rings and gasket set separately.

Bob and Dropzone, All these Ebay guys are doing is putting a kit together on demand for those that wishes the kit. He is buying the parts and repackaging for customers that insists a complete kit at one price. He still to know which piston size, ring set and rod size to add to the package. Any of us or a good vendor can do that went they have all the need info.

Yup - those so-called kits are pretty much just put together collections of individual parts - We've started doing the same thing on certain parts that are often sold together, *along with* a couple other pieces that are NOT fast selling items... neat thing about it is it makes the slow moving stuff worth stocking, makes the whole package much more profitable than if the pieces were bought individually :)

I love lazy people that can't be bothered to put together their own kits..... :-D

Sure saved me a lot of screwing around. One of my best customers does 24 MILLION a year kitting military helicopter parts.
So if you need a seal kit ...lemme know.
