oil sight glass

Postby Az Shadeguy » Wed Apr 30, 2014 6:55 pm

Any one know where to get a sight glass. It looks like the one on the ebay link but is 2.5 inches bore to bore.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231002417644?ss ... 1423.l2649

If I could find one that is pressed in I would not need the metal frame
The one that is on it now is pressed in and is leaking at the glass
It measures 1.25 in round with no threads
Its .343 in tall

perhaps if you posted engine/equipment numbers for what it goes to, someone might be able to find you an actual direct replacement..?

I dont think castair makes the pump so I don't know the pump manufacturer.

You need to call them but they may have what your looking for.

contact them, if they dont over parts for your model any longer they may tell you who made them for them, easier than reinventing the sight glass

If you feel like doing a bit of modification, you could rework the part that bolts to the crankcase and fit one of these:http://www.mcmaster.com/#bull's-eye-sights/=rrx5nq

Thanks Okie.
It looks like the press in fit will work. I ordered one and will see.
The old one had some kind of white sealant holding it in.
Any ideas what I should use to seel it and hold it in?
