I have an echo pb 200 blower with zama carb. I got the machine for nothing, which had been sitting for some time and didn't run. I did a plug, fuel, vent and primer lines, fuel and air filter and carb clean / carb kit. She fired up but bogs at high speed. After some research, I think it's starving because I didn't clean the carb thoroughly enough so I took it apart again and cleaned it very thoroughly this time. Dipped it for a bit, blew it out, drowned in carb cleaner for a while, blew it out, ran a bread tie through every little hole I could find, sprayed it again...blew it out, etc. I feel good about it this time and think it's squeaky clean now.
Like a big dummy, during this second cleaning, I forgot to remove the little screen / strainer on the opposing side of the carb to the needle value so as you may have expected, I blew that puppy out into driveway...never to be recovered. This is a tiny little round screen about 1/4 inch wide, if that.
So my question is relatively simple. Is it ok to run the machine for a few minutes without this screen? I know I'll have to replace, which I think means another $15 for a kit but I'd like to make sure I have the thing running well before I sink more $$ into it. I can't imagine that the screen would impact the function but know that it's there for a reason, most likely to protect the carb and engine from tiny gremlins.
Thanks
