Kohler Courage two cylinder valve cover parts help

Postby puttinalong » Mon Jul 07, 2014 5:12 am

I have a Kohler Courage two cylinder engine with oil residue on the right hand side valve cover I guess letting a little oil out of it. Not bad, but it bugs me and I want to replace it. The engine is out of warranty with only 23 hours on the engine because it simply hasn't been run that much. The engine model number is SV735-3002. I have looked at parts diagrams and the "43" number that corresponds to the valve cover gasket is not listed with a part number. Does anyone know the part number? How do I find parts numbers in the future for the parts that are not listed? I even went to Kohler's website and looked at their parts numbers with breakdown pictures and they did not list it as well. Thanks.

The parts lists indicates that this engine has the stamp steel valve cover and you would be using RTV instead of the o-rings.

Just in case your engine don't have stamp steel cover the following is the o-ring gaskets.
If the o-ring gasket is yellow or brown use 24 153 30-S; if the o-ring is black use 24 153 23-S
The truest measure of society is the how it treats its elderly, its pets, and its prisoners.

Ya might wanna download a service manual from the Kohler site also: http://www.kohlerengines.com/manuals/landing.htm

Thank you. I got the service manual and I guess I never really considered it of having to use the RTV. But...that 'splains it.
