briggs engine base torque spec

Postby Cokoliso » Mon Jul 14, 2014 10:11 am

I have a briggs model 302431 type 0155-01 date code 7704111, 13hp L-head cast iron single cylinder engine. I'm looking for the torque spec for the engine base, which is basically the oil pan in my mind. My service manual shows specs for the "crankcase cover or sump" as 90 in-lb mag/190 in-lb PTO, but these values are for the crankcase covers on the mag and PTO ends. Searching the service manual by computer doesn't turn up a torque value for what the IPL refers to as "base assy - engine". There are only four bolts - got to tighten enough to seal against oil leaks, but not strip the casting! Any help? Thanks.
