sno-tek

Hi all,

This is my first post on the new forum since Bruce retired. I wish I could. I was given a son-tek 24 snowblower by a neighbour who was downsizing from a house to a condo. This was bought from Home Depot 3-4 years ago. It ran for 2 seasons, I actually helped show him how to runn it. Last year, I went to start it up but only got it to sputter but not run. It backfires out the carb and exhaust but won't run. The engine is LCT 208 cc 6.5 hp. I'm wondering if anyone can chime in to direct me how I might fix this. I'm handy and have tools, not an expert but mechanically inclined and interested.

More than likely the carb is munged up. Pull the carb and clean it. I'd clean the tank also. At times the intake valves will hang up/ stick from gas gummy bears. You can usually free it up by spraying the valve/guide area with carb spray and working it in. Follow up with a splash of oil.
Start by getting parts list from the engine maker's website.

To look-up engine parts use the following site: http://www.lctllc.com/service_parts_catalog/

The first two lines of an engine’s number is the model number. It is alphanumeric and engraved on the side of the block to the right of the recoil. The third line is alphanumeric and is also the serial number.
