1998 Scotts Steering/Tire Issue

Postby 1998Scotts » Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:23 pm

I have a 1998 Scotts by Murray Rider I am having to work on again. Its model no. is 42561X8. I will be attaching pics. The part that holds the actual tire on its the left front tire is worn out. My friend who is a local repairman calls it a spindle assembly the local repair shop where I usually can order parts calls it the axle. To be clear we are specifically talking about the left front tire. I am needing to locate a part that would fit that would be greatly appreciated. Again, the model no is 42561X8 and its a 1998 Scotts built by Murray Riding Mower I am attaching two pics of what I am looking for. These pics should be viewable on facebook with the links I am attaching here since I can't find a way to attach pics in this post.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&theater pic two shows the piece laying by the tire on the ground

These two links you will have to copy and paste to see them

I appreciate any help I can get please if anyone can help help me with this

thank you all for your help especially to the one who told me to google. Now I need a little bit more help. Here is a link I fount a parts manual too http://www.mowerpartsweb.com/MANUALS/MURRAY/42561X8.PDF

Scroll down on the pdf file of the parts manual to about the seventh page down numbered 46 at the bottom of the page. I believe it is the spindle that I am needing. Its numbered 2 for one of them and 3 on the other I am needing to get one for the left hand side. Any help as always is appreciated and thanks for what you all have done so far.

It shows Key 3
Part # 94733-821
This is for the LH Side

Just make sure that what they are calling LH side is the the same as what you are calling LH side.

I am not sure if what I am calling LH is the same as what they are calling it because there is nothing to state what LH is I am fixing to post a video showing the part to maybe help. I need someone if they can to help me locate this part on a website whom sells parts.

LH Spindle current part number is 094733E701MA and ouch at $79 +. One of the reason I go thru mower graveyards for parts on these older mowers.

Here is a link to a video of my mower and me describing the problem just to make sure we are on the same page and talking about the same part. If possible could someone locate this part for me somewhere online

Alternate part number MUR-94733E701MA found some for $65...you'll probably need bearings too
