INTEK MISS??

Postby makeemrun » Tue Aug 26, 2014 7:09 pm

I have a 44P777-0143-B1 intek here. it runs with a miss. I checked both sides with a spark tester, both jumped the gap. installed new plugs, adjusted both valves, after I ran it for 10 min and cylinder 1 was white. cylinder 2 was ok. is this a fuel problem or should I be looking somewhere else?

I have 2 engine right now that have a slight miss at max rpm , no load. If I shut the fuel valves off both the misses disappear well before they shutdown from lack of of fuel. In fact when the miss disappears I wait a few second and then reopen valves and miss reappears. Both are going to get new needles as a minimum I guess.

Very likely a fuel problem. A thorough carb cleaning is the place to start.

And don't forget to check those main jets for tight fit, the o-rings tend to shrink and harden causing fuel mixture problems.
