Yes. also turn the unit upside down so spark plug hole is pointing down,Shut off the switch, remove plug, crank engine over slowly a few times, then crank it fast a few, repeat until it stops blowing gas out - if you got a carb leak (Probably leaking metering needle, ruptured diaphragm or a bad check valve - the first 2 fixable, the last , calls for a new carb if it cant be cleaned to not leak) - if you leaked enough gas to pump it out the exhaust, your crankcase is probably full of gas too, and you'll continue to see the issue until it is cleared out - maybe you did fix the carb but it'll still have raw gas in crankcase that needs cleared out.
