Wrong part....

Postby GoatDriver » Fri Mar 07, 2014 4:48 pm

My son and I bought an old Craftsman 6x18 lathe at the end of last summer and had not gotten it cleaned up good before it was called to duty.
My son had ordered some replacement deck wheels for a customer and they sent the wrong deck wheels, so to keep from having to go thru the
"return" process...We just chucked them up in the old lathe and "modified" them to fit. This little lathe is old (1950's) and she looked rough when we got her
but she runs very well and is still holds good tolerance.

Just thought you guys would enjoy a little "shop time"... 8-)

Thanks...Good eye! That's a Starrett 196. I got it with a bunch of tooling that I bought at a great price (drill bits, carbide end mills, counter sinks, etc.) it was in one of the metal "cabinets"! BONUS score!! :D

Haven't seen the floor since I rebuilt that K241 last year...making a pair of coffee tables out of boat propellers right now in that mess.
