I just got an 'at the curb' cub cadet self propelled walk behind. Can't be really old as it's OHV. Lady said it pulled back when trying to start. Hope it's just the sheared key but some I have found that the bad key is accompanied by a bent crankshaft.

38, I just worked on one of those that needed valve adjustment to get the ACR working. I thought it was the key, also, but the blade was untouched.

Ain't that confusing we started out with a L-head having problem and ended up with OHV being fixed. :?

I got the mower back to my co-worker and he's a happy camper - his son can mow the grass now! The shaft appeared to be straight so I don't know what caused the problem in the first place. If that mower has any more trouble, it's not worth any more of my time. But for now, it's workin'.
