2002 Toro 5xi Ignition Module question

2002 Toro 5xi series with kohler command mod. ch22s ser. # 3118803651 I would like to know if i have to pull my engine to replace ign. mods. Thanks geppsr

Actually - it depends.. if this is a shaft drive (Note it is horizontal shaft engine) with the flywheel side driving the drive shaft (didn't look at parts catalog) then you DO have to pull the engine away from the driveshaft to get the blower housing off, usually. - Some techs with the technical skill CAN work "blind" and just loosen the housing enough to pull coils and set them up, but they have to know what they are doing, and be able to basically work "blind" or by feel, since you won't be able to visually check that things are all hooked in right.
