Gen set took a header...

Hey guys... about 10 years ago, I was installing a wood fence in a remote location. I had an 8HP B&S powered generator running in the bed of my truck to power a couple of skill saws. One of my guys pulled the truck forward to the next location and the running genny was pulled off the tailgate and landed on an asphalt surface. It stopped running and has never started.

The motor spins freely with the recoil starter. It acts completely normal but will not start. The plug is ok.

Any ideas?

Flywheel lost magnetism or polarity is one possibility, also could have cracked block , broken the cam, sheared flywheel key, sheared timing gear key - It really kind of depends on which end it landed on. That is assuming the simple stuff has already been checked - carburetor, spark plug, oil alert, etc.

But if it has been 10 years since it last ran, then it probably needs carburetor work anyhow.
