Honda GX630 Generator engine

Wonder if anyone can tell me if these Honda shut off solenoids have a spring inside the solenoid? All mine shows is the plunger and the solenoid. The solenoid seems to work when I apply power to it but I'm afraid I may have lost the spring when I took it off but I'm not sure. Here is a pic

Boy, if I had one I'd go look at it!? LOL I guess I didn't originally understand your answer! Does that mean there IS a spring that belongs in the solenoid??

Please, if someone has this part in stock, (just found the part number, #16200-Z6L-003) , could you check to see if it has a spring??

Of course it has a spring. I have yet to see a solenoid that doesn't. What else would the magnet overcome? Here is a generic picture.Your spring goes over the small stem on the plunger...

What B said. And do not use a pen spring as jokingly suggested. The original springs in these are pretty weak. Better to leave it out entirely.

I WAS NOT KIDDING....if the spring seems to be too strong..heat it up a little with a lighter.

Ok thanks guys...it did seem logical that it needed a spring and I don't know why I didn't see one when I took it apart. Thanks for your help!

I messed with the solenoid for awhile trying to get a pen spring to work but I believe the spring goes into the inside of the plunger and not the outside. I cut it down a few times and also tried heating up the spring to lose some of it's tension but it just couldn't pull the plunger in when power was supplied. I have ordered a new solenoid however so perhaps by next week it will be here. Thanks for helping me out here!

I had to go back and look at the pictures again...didn't see the pointy end. So yes it would go inside.
