Where do you find the model and type numbers on a B&S I/C 17.5 HP engine when they are not stamped in the valve cover and the label is gone from the shroud?
The engine is on a Troy Bilt Pony 2009 model....

Or, the valve cover is rusty and you need to use emery cloth to send it down to see the numbers.

Which really sucks - What is the equipment model and serial number, and maybe we can get "close" to the right engine model and type - and a rough estimate of date code.

It seems that all the 310000 series use the same intake push rod and that is what I need for this one so, I just got a used one that we had in stock and used it.
