Husqvarna 350 chain saw - pin dropped out??

The pin is part of the fuel tank assembly. It's purpose is to help hold the tank on if an anti-vibe spring breaks. If you remove the rewind assembly you can see where it should be above the fuel cap.

I am sooo glad you have solved the mystery. I begin to think these 2 guys were just spoofing me. I started once to just tell them to duct tape the pin to the outside of the housing :bricks:

the pin is a limiting pin. it limits the movement of the anti vibe spring so when the operator tries to cut with a dull chain and is trying to pry the tree down instead of cutting it . the pin limits the movement to that small circle its in TOM.
