Hello all
Husky pressure washer with Honda GCV160 LA N5R
Pump is ANNOVI REVERBERI pump RMW2.2G24 ( I suspect the EZ version because the inlet/outlet tubes face the front, as does the spark plug )
I was given this unit last spring with the engine only running on full choke, and pump not pumping water. ( I had posted on PERR )
Last Spring:
1) Advice from PERR member led to new gaskets on carburetor. Engine ran great with new gaskets.
2) I disassembled pump once, no crud buildup in there. Disassembled unloader valve, lots of corrosion, polished with steel wool.
Jet and detergent injector(? threaded part that hold jet in place) also needed polishing up.
3) After several cleanings of unloader valve, the unit worked like a champ all summer!
This Spring:
Engine runs great. With engine off I run water to bleed most air out of hose then hook up to pump. Pull trigger on wand to bleed most air out of pump.
Start engine. Pull trigger on wand. Pumps great for about 2 seconds, then NO WATER out of wand.
Disassemble unloader valve, sure enough some corrosion, and valve piston will NOT move. Polished it all up again.
I was careful to not change setting on the nut on the end of the unloader valve.
Same old same old. Hook up hose, pull trigger on wand to bleed until steady stream of water, start engine, the pump may or may not pump water at all.
Is the unloader valve shot? Needing adjustment with the nut on the end? This time I did not yet clean out the 'EZ Start' ball and spring assembly. Should I?
Sure I could just order up a new pump. I do not repair these for a living, so I can afford the time to mess with the pump, even to get only one summer out of it.
What are your thoughts on what could wrong here?
Thank you
Dale
