Craftsman snowblower

Neighor has a craftsman (MTD) 31AM62EE799 snowblower . is there a carb rebuild kit available ? Also the 110 volt starter doesnt always engage is there a fix or do I need to replace it ? thanks Jim The S/N is 1J088B40318

If it has the MTD built powermore engine, probably not - while there are a couple rebuild kits I know of, most all of them are now just "replace the carb" situations - many of their carburetors have been updated and part numbers changed.

With a little patience and attention to detail, one can dismantle, clean and reassemble these carburetors quite effectively. However, depending on what you feel your time is worth, a complete new carburetor (part # 951-10974A) retails for less than $56.00 through www.partstree.com.

As for the starter, again, check to see the bendix drive isn't rusted or gummed up with sticky grease. WD-40 also leaves a sticky residue that tends to bind things up so should be avoided, use something like PB blaster or Deep Creep instead. Hope this helps,
