ok, so look from the front of the machine at the idler pulley for the drive. Look at which side the spring is on.
ie. there are only 4 variations total only 1 will work properly.
If the spring pulls to the left. Either the right side of thebelt loop on the left side of the pulley or the left side of the belt loop on the right side of the pulley. Both of these will provide tension, but only 1 is correct because the spring has to tighten the belt
I have to use the right side of the belt loop and pull it way over to the left side of the idler pulley (spring on the left - from front) of the machine. I've bruised my knuckles more than once. Mine has two drive shafts on the engine itself.
