Ok i guessed the intake valve was the top one. I put the head back on with the gasket. intalled the push rod. no compression. i loosened the rocker arm nut until the there was no pressure on spring and rocker has a hair of free play. I now have compression. How much i don't know. But i put my finger on spark plug hole and it now pops. :) Shit the head gasket is like $18 for that engine. I feel dumb now.... Hmmmm

You guys are awesome. When i saw the bent pushrod i was happy because i thought i found my problem. I replaced the push rod without messing with the valve adjustment. Thought if it wasn't messed with setting would be intact. WRONG!!!

So to adjust the valve right. I'm guessing i have to get a feeler gauge and set the piston to TDC. then adjust per the specs in Bob's link??

Well for the heck of it. I put the plug back in. With no fuel tank on or nothing gave it one pull and she fired right up!!!!

Thanks everyone you all rock. To adjust valves all i need is to stick a feeler gauge between valve and rocker???
