Briggs Starter Gear

Working on a 44Q777 0136 G1 that has a bad starter. The ring gear on the flywheel is plastic. The bad starter has a plastic gear. Is this correct or should it be a steel gear on the starter?

I think I answered my own question. The plastic gear on the bad starter has 16 teeth. The steel gears on the starters I have in stock have 14 teeth.

Yep you did. :)

Plastic plastic drive gears are used on plastic and aluminum ring gears only. Steel drive gears are only used with steel ring gears.
