Briggs and Stratton 6 HP QUANTUM Engine

Postby jerkputter123 » Fri May 30, 2014 8:41 am

I have a Briggs and Stratton model 125H07-0114-D1. The other numbers I see are 02060657. The engine is on a type of line trimmer I guess you would call it. Anyway I can only get it to run by using starting fluid. I have removed the carb and soaked overnight. I replaced the gas with clean. I do not see any jets on this engine to run a wire in to see if it is plugged up. What would I need to look for to make this run off the gas. The compression is good and tank clean and it has a good flow of fuel going to carb.

Your just over looking the main jet probably. It is the bowl nut that is the main jet and usually clog easily. The primer can give problem if the gasket and base don't seal good. Overtighting the mounting screws can warp these plastic primer base/air cleaners. Sometimes you can use multiple gasket to get it to seal; other times you need to replace primer base. It just depends how bad it is warped.

bowl nut that is the main jet and usually clog easily was the problem. I am helping a person on the phone as I have never seen this machine. One more question being he has now got it running. Is there a way to slow this thing down or is it like the never mowers that they have only one speed and the governors control the throttle ? THANKS SO MUCH

About the only thing you can do is BEND the tab/tang that the gov. spring anchors to. Bend it in towards the carb to slow it down. If ya got two springs, it would be the fatter of the two.
