Ryobi mini rototiller 410r. Gas line has rotted away. Has a line trimmer style of motor,2 cycle

Hi: I replaced the gas line and primer and now I am having trouble starting it and it seems to flood very easy when I do get it started. I used the same size of gas line for both fuel and return which is the larger of the two. Would that have caused any problem. Secondly how high should the return hose be in the tank. Flush with bottom or higher? Thirdly it didn't have a fuel filter. Should it have one? Thanks.

First make sure you fuel plumb properly. These external primer bulb systems can be easily connected wrong which will cause flooding. As for the return line to it should only 1/2" to 1" into the tank and not on the bottom.

As 410R model number look on the tiller for an eleven digit alpha/numeric number starting with 21 which will help help narrow it to which of the 7 versions it is.

Add an in-tank filter on the supply side tube end. The same sized tubing will work on both supply and return if correctly routed. The flooding issue is most likely caused by the hard starting issue. MH
