Dave you got two safety switches between the ignition switch and solenoid relay. They are the PTO and Brake/Clutch switches. You should have the battery voltage on the orange wire from the ignition switch when it is in start position though these switches. You could also a faulty electrical connection where the voltage is dropping due poor connections.

Do you have the wiring diagram? Or do you need a copy sent to you for that 42" Yard King?

I got a wiring diagram. I have power no going to the solonoid when testing voltage on the wire that hooks up on the terminal tab of the solonoid. I tried unplugging the safety switches but no luck. I have 12v when in run and turned on crank on the ignition switch.

put 12 volts to the small post on the solenoid,if solenoid clicks ,check for voltage at starter when it clicks. If it has two small terminals, one must be grounded.
Is the solenoid the same as the old one?

Be aware that those safeties may be "Normally Open" and need to be CLOSED, so a jumper might be required.

These are normally open connections. Just unplugging the connectors will not help. These connection must be closed (or jumper-ed) in order for the voltage from the ignition switch to make to the solenoid.

I dont have clutch pedal switch. I have seat, shifter, and and blade switch. Which circuits do I jumper on the safety switch plugs?

Yes solonoid is the same as the old one. I can jump the solonoid to crank the engine with a screwdriver.

I hope that bad/repaired solonoid didnt short out all the safety switches.

Either someone has removed it or the model number you posted is incorrect for circuit diagram I have here for Yard King clearly has one.

I think you going to need to call someone else to troubleshoot your mower circuits. I have gone about as I can without putting my hands actually on the circuits myself. Others may be able talk you though the step by step testing.
