B&S 591868 (5861) - Replaces Champion plug RJ19LMC (specifically gapped at .020"). Used in both older and current production Quantum engines. This spark plug should be pre-set to .020" (.51mm) gap, which is the correct specification for Quantum engines manufactured after Code Date 110630xx.

Please be aware that the gap for this plug must be adjusted to .030" (.76 mm) gap for Quantum engines manufactured before Code Date 110701xx.

the wallmart champion carded ez start plug 5861 was set @ .025,I think champion addressed the early/late date code gap by just splitting it down the middle.they know the customer is just going to through the plug in. 8-)

Might be Champion did this but I would stick with the manufacture's specs as there can performance relate issues if you don't as Briggs and Stratton did change the engine specs and today coils and carburetor mixture settings can be sensitive to incorrect specs.

I have seen engines here where all I did was to put in a correctly gapped spec plug that fix the reported problems.

Edit: One other thing relate to plug gap is ignition timing. By setting to other than specs shifts the ignition timing.
