Walbro LMB 64 Carburetor

Postby OverKnight » Sun May 11, 2014 2:45 pm

I'm helping my brother with an engine he has on his edger. It's a Craftsman engine, #143-661052 SER 7167B, with a Walbro LMB 64 float carburetor. According to the Sears parts lookup, this engine originally came with a diaphragm carburetor, so somewhere along the way the carburetor for this engine was swapped for the Walbro LMB64. It looks like it's a very old carburetor, with both idle and high speed jet adjustments, and what appears to be a vent tube that comes out of the mounting flange and extends into the bore of the intake manifold. There is also a "9" and a "2" stamped onto the opposite side. I'm not able to find a parts listing for this carburetor.
- Can anyone provide the part numbers for the float and rebuild kit?
- Or, does the LMB 64 cross-reference to another Walbro carburetor for which I can look up the part numbers?
- As a last resort, could anyone provide the number of the correct carburetor for this engine?

Thank you.

Carburetor Number > Tecumseh 630968 > NLA
Part breakdown on http://www.partstree.com. Enter Tecumseh and the above carburetor part number.

Carburetor Kit > Walbro K3-LMB (Tecumseh 30359) source Ebay or Similar for NOS Manufacture no longer making the kit.

Float > Tecumseh 30354 >NLA search for NOS stock.

Google the above part numbers and you may find what you need.

Thank you, Starfire1. I struck out looking for these part numbers, but I'll keep trying. Just to clarify; are you saying that the kit for a Walbro K3-LMB carburetor will work on the LMB 64?

Actually, K3-LMB is the repair kit part number from Walbro, which will fit the LMB-64 among others so when you search for repair kit , K3-LMB or K3LMB would be the one to look for

However, checking at Gardner, K3-LMB has been replaced by K1-LMB and is current production, they show 22 in stock, so any dealer that can buy Walbro from Gardner could get you one.

If that is the case then the OP can go to Tulsa Engine Warehouse and order their 06-1016 carburetor kit.

Thank you, bgsengine. Would you know if there's another float part number that would work in this carburetor?

Walbro # 75-528-1 However , that is backordered, with no ETA, at the moment - but might shop around for someone with it on the shelf.

The 06-1016 kit from TEW is a bootleg kit. Gets right pricey when ya add shipping.
Fleabay has the OEM walbro kit for $16.99 free shipping. Gotta love that free shipping! ('course we all know it ain't really free, right? )

Thank you, KE4AVB, bgsengine and Deere2me. I did a quick search, and the prices for #75-538-1 could best be described as obscenely laughable, ranging from around $53 to over $75. I didn’t find the rebuild kit, but I might have more time to search for this tomorrow. My local dealer has been around for over fifty years, so if anyone might have old stock sitting around, it would be them; I’ll run down there over the weekend. Besides, I’d rather give them my business.

However, it might make the most sense to try to find the correct carburetor for this engine. Again, it’s a Craftsman #143-661052 SER 7167B; would anyone be able to tell me what carburetor originally came on this engine?

Thanks again, everyone.

143-661052 crosses to Tecumseh H30-35311M

Carburetor > 630989 > 631985A > NLA

It looking like this one is going to be a lost cause......
